Football is very popular in Brazil, partly because it is so cheap to practise: all you need is a ball. Brazil has produced some famous footballers, such as Pelé, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Kaká, and has won the FIFA World Cup 5 times.

The Maracanã Stadium is a large, open-air football stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Since opening in 1950, however, it has also been used for other sporting events and concerts.
